Araceli Speed Named Senior Growth Officer for Greater Texas Credit Union

Austin/San Marcos, July 10, 2025 – Araceli Speed, a Greater Texas Credit Union employee for nearly 15 years, has been named Senior Growth Officer for the credit union.

In her new role, San Marcos-based Speed is working to strengthen business development efforts across all Greater Texas’ markets, including initiatives to activate and deepen partnerships with Texas State University. Working closely with the many Greater Texas branches, local businesses, and others, Speed’s objective is to further expand the membership base by promoting Greater Texas and to enhance its community presence and visibility.

Speed’s career with the credit union has been marked by a steady rise in responsibilities. She began as a member services representative, moved up to head teller and then teller supervisor. In 2015, she was named a branch manager, then five years later an area branch manager. That was her position when she was tapped to lead the growth initiatives.

“Araceli Speed has shown strong leadership throughout her tenure with Greater Texas,” said Sidney Henderson, Senior Vice President of Marketing. “She thinks strategically and is outstanding in her ability to represent the credit union as she develops valuable relationships.”

Speed is active in the San Marcos community, serving as secretary of School Fuel, as a San Marcos Young Professionals committee member for the Chamber of Commerce, and in the Rotary Club.
